Patty the Raspberry

There was once a raspberry named Patty who was living a happy
life until she saw a human with a bucket picking all her friends.
She was scared for them as the human looked past her.  She was
a green raspberry, you know.

She jumped off the bush, determined to find her friends.
(Raspberries don't spend all their time on bushes, you know.)  She
exited the raspberry farm and found a trail of peanuts the
berry-picker had left behind.  She followed it until she came to a
hamster.

"Hey, have you seen a bucket of raspberries around here
somewhere?" Patty asked.

"No, I just like peanuts.  My name is Buttercup."

"I'm Patty, and I believe that trail of peanuts leads to my friends."

"Oh, well, hamsters have a very good directional instinct,"
Buttercup replied.  "I'll find your friends using intuition.

Buttercup was on the trail, and Patty followed.  When they
reached the end Patty's face fell.

"The peanut trail lead to strawberries?!?!?"  Patty exclaimed.  She
was turning pinkish.

"Hmm...there's better ways to search for missing loved ones,"
Buttercup suggested.  "Come with me."

Patty followed her to the library.  "Let's get in through the book
return," Buttercup said.  The book return was a slit that led to the
books inside.

"Why are we in a library?" asked Patty.

"Because we're going to search on the Internet for your raspberry
friends."

But it turned out that Buttercup's fingers were too small to type on
a standard keyboard with.  So they left.

"Now that I'm off my bush, I don't know how to get back," said
Patty.

"You can come back with me," said Buttercup.  "I don't think my
owner would mind."

"Okay," Patty agreed.

So the hamster and the raspberry ventured to Buttercup's home.

One day the master came home and he was unpacking
groceries.  Patty came to see what he got and sure enough, there
was a jar of raspberry jam.

"Patty?  Is that you?" asked a voice.

"Yeah, look at you!  You're jammed!"

"They're going to eat us, Patty."

"Oh.  Well there's nothing you can really do now that you're
jammed."

"Yeah, I lived a good raspberry life."

"Well, see ya."

"Bye, Patty."

And eventually Buttercup ate Patty.

The End!
